Aid for Veteran Facing Homelessness
David, a young Veteran on the brink of being homeless, was living in a shelter with his service dog. His severe PTSD symptoms were disabling, so he had no income and was unable to work. When another Veteran service agency referred him to AFW, we were able to get him a pro bono attorney to handle his eviction proceedings, with The AFW Legal Initiative covering court fees. We also helped him settle his finances, purchasing groceries for both David and his service dog. They are now living comfortably in permanent housing.
